Surreal Mod

The Surreal Mod has an update for us today. Be sure to visit thier website to view the images of their new helicopter.

I've now got our USA Server back running right and will continue our fixes. I'm hoping to have the lag issues with the train and Orb sorted soon.

New Rebel Helicopter - Here's a couple of glimpses of our new helicopter. All its needs now is one of Stuka's cool skins (watch this space). Inspired by and loosely based around the Gazelle.

Proving Grounds Closes

The competition league Proving Grounds who has hosted many Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 ladders, has decided to close shop due to financial issues.

In the end, we have to admit that the financial issues must force us to close down, and in that respect, this closure will happen relatively quickly. On October 14th, 2004, PG will officially close its doors. We hope to hear from our committed members in the next week as we say our goodbyes, and afterwards as we become "just players", as we were before we began this thing we would come to love. Certainly, we more than expect to hear from the trolls who I have personally more than enjoyed schooling in lessons of humility.

So, please forgive us for this decision, wrap up your matches, and enjoy the last moments of Proving Grounds. We hope that you guys have enjoyed playing with us as much as we have enjoyed serving you.

DC Final Release Date

The DC Final team has set an official release date for the release of DC Final. October 16th 2004 will be the big day.

We would like to thank the public for its patience waiting for ".8". This is the next logical step in the evolution of DC and really completes the game. It, of course, fixes all of the bugs and issues that we've heard about .7 but it also changes gameplay slightly to bring you a more surreal experience. Almost the entire modification has been tweaked with new effects and new sounds to make the battlefield seem like a modern combat FPS game. It is the closest to BF2 you can come without actually buying it.

This release includes .8 content before Trauma stopped work and also some content that testers have added. After DC_Final was announced - we got some Trauma folks back to help us with some of the really cool things in DC_Final. The release date is OCTOBER 16th 2004

Forgotten Hope

We have some news today from the Forgotten Hope mod. Have a look.

Hey there again, we have a small news update to post today. First off we'd like to tell you all about another way to get Forgotten Hope. We've recently worked out a deal with the Australian Expeditionary Forces, an Australian Battlefield gaming community to distribute the mod on compact disk so that those of you having trouble downloading the file can still get the mod. Follow this link and read the information to get yourself set up. This group now allows those of you not in Europe to get the file the same way as the original European DVD release!

We're also working hard right now on a patch for version 0.65 of Forgotten Hope. We're hoping to localize the problem with our Pacific Campaign maps so that they'll stop crashing servers. Once this bug is hunted down and squashed we'll be pushing a patch out very soon!

Unreal Demolition Update

The Unreal Demolition mod has an update for us today. Have a look.

It's that time again, to wrap up what happened this week with UD! (note: all screnshots of what happened this week will be at the bottom of the post)

UD made it as a finalist in the Non-FPS Catagory in the Make Something Unreal contest, congrats and good luck to all other mods in the contest, and wish Team Derby luck as well!

Weisso finished his latest map, UDSU-SumoArena. A sexy looking arena themed map, which looks a lot better than the previous one! With that map done, we have some more on the way as well.

We've also made major progress on our vehicle damage modeling. Our awesome programmers here with Team Derby have done an excellent job with this, it's lookin' great. (note: the model used in the screenshot is not completed)

Finally, we're still actively recruiting anyone interested in joining our mod. See our jobs section for more details.

This week we have mainly been doing some bug elimination and alongside that, coding new objects and vehicles to the game. We will make a bug fix to fix issues that have been found on fw.turnaus matches. Hopefully we will get it released soon. FinnWars tournament has also updated its pages and done some new map decisions. Finnish players should check it out fw-turnaus.tk. We are also working on a new map, which goes by the name Ihantala Second Day.
